Iran Successfully Tests New Fateh Missile

According to Iranian sources, Iran test-fired its third generation Fateh missile which is purported to have a longer range.  The Fateh-110 missile is just the newest in a series of tests conducted by Iran over the last several years.  The Iranian Defense Minister, Brig. General Ahmad Vahidi denies that these tests were in response to the recent Kuwaiti acquisition of American Patriot missiles:

“Kuwait is not a threat to us because we have friendly relations with Kuwait … however, there was no need to have that system (Patriot) in Kuwait.”

Further Iranian missile tests are likely in the coming months including the launch of the domestically produced Rasad 1 satellite.  As the build-up of arms in the Persian Gulf continues, we will provide the latest updates which may help unearth the likelihood of an impending military conflict.
